in the universe of Destiny, there used to be giant wish-granting space dragons. no one knows where they fuckin came from or how long they’d been in our solar system by the time we discovered them, but they existed, and they could shapeshift, and they operated on the same logic as the Fair Folk or like, a genie that’s a HUGE asshole – everything for a price, and that price was always super heavily in their favor

now, i say used to be, because eventually the guys in charge of all the Guardians were like, okay this is a bit much, all our guys are going out there getting wishes granted and getting fucked over so like, this is too much

and then oRDERED ALL THE GUARDIANS TO HUNT THE SPACE DRAGONS TO EXTINCTION

AND THIS WAS HUNDREDS OF YEARS BEFORE THE FIRST GAME (POTENTIALLY, THE TIMELINE IS REALLY VAGUE)?

SO IT’S BASICALLY JUST BACKGROUND FLAVOR AND NOT REALLY SUPER RELEVANT TO THE STORY
